In other news...

my lionfish lost his tail again... based on the nature of the wound, id say something got ahold of it. either the mantis shrimp that MAY be living in my aquarium, the newly added button polyps, or my large hitchiker anemone. The thing that really bugs me is that the nassarius snails are starting to try to eat him... i guess they smell the fresh meat.



today i will get an extra 10 gallon, and set up a quarantine tank for him. i have a HOB filter with a used filter pad that i will run in the quarantine to get some bacteria going. i will then dose with some antibiotics to speed the healing process and reduce the possibility of infection. not sure what exactly to dose with, but ill do some research.
