Ozone

So I have been pondering using protein skimming in conjunction with ozone on my 40 gal reef and nothing else. Any opinions on this method and its pro's vs con's?

spend the money on a skimmer..the ozone won't actually remove the crap....the skimmer will. Call me dude!

it's my understanding that you are supposed to use ozone in conjunction with a skimmer. The ozone is input into the air inlet of the skimmer to make the skimmer more effective. Is your question regarding that being the only filtration in the tank? If it is, I think it would work fine with sufficient LR to provide bio filtration. The only con would be the possibility of overdosing ozone into the air and there are plenty of safeguards for that. My opinion is go for it.
